Margaret Sena Akpo selected for neuroscience training grant: International Brain Research Organization (IBRO)

Congratulations to Margaret Sena Akpo, who has been selected as a recipient of the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) Neuroscience Training Grant.

From 107 eligible applications worldwide, IBRO selected 26 early-career neuroscientists representing 17 countries and areas, placing Sena among a select cohort of emerging researchers recognized for their potential and commitment to advancing neuroscience.

The competitive award will support Sena’s participation in specialized training in visual systems development, providing her with a platform to present her research on how cell adhesion molecules regulate Müller glia morphology and tiling. She will also have the opportunity to engage with internationally recognized researchers and gain exposure on emerging approaches and ideas at the forefront of her field.

Beyond its immediate research benefits, the award provides valuable recognition of Sena’s potential as an independent scientist and supports her continued growth within the international neuroscience and developmental biology community.
