Margaret Sena Akpo selected for Scholar Mentoring and Development Program (SMDP)

Congratulations to Margaret Sena Akpo, who was selected for the 2026-2027 Cohort of the Scholar Mentoring and Development Program (SMDP).

The Scholar Mentoring and Development Program (SMDP) provides scholars with a comprehensive professional development experience, including participation in the SMDP Training Session and attendance at a major industry conference. The program also covers lodging and reimburses travel expenses, enabling scholars to fully engage in these opportunities.

Beyond the in-person experience, scholars receive one year of support and networking opportunities through the SMDP Mentoring Portal, where they can connect with mentors, industry professionals, and fellow scholars. Each scholar is also provided with a personalized profile and project page, enhancing their professional visibility and fostering meaningful career development within the biotechnology and life sciences sectors.

When asked about her accomplishment, Ms. Akpo responded, "I would like to express my gratitude to Dr. Andrew Garrett and Dr. Ryan Insolera for their support and recommendation."
