Biography

I majored in Biology and Neuroscience and minored in Chemistry in my undergraduate career at BGSU. I went on to get my masters in Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Delaware, studying the neurobiology of emotion, specifically conditioned and unconditioned fear. After graduation, I switched gears and joined Izabela’s lab in September of 2008, studying prostate cancer and the effects the bone marrow niche cause to its growth and invasion. Here, we utilize many different techniques to study this particular phenomena.

Training

Proficient in use of MICR core’s confocal microscopes, in vivo imaging machines, and analysis programs; DLAR approved to handle and treat mice using a variety of techniques; Perform 3D cell culture techniques created in Dr. Podgorski’s mentor’s lab.
