Biography
Zhao is a postdoctoral fellow in the Petriello lab. He received his Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences in 2014, and he completed his PhD degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics in 2019, both at Wayne State University. During his PhD period, he focused on proteomic interactions of transcription factors in hepatic diseases. After he joined the Petriello lab in 2019, he turned his focus to the molecular mechanism and cardiometabolic changes induced by persistent organic pollutants, represented by dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyl 126 (PCB 126) and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
