Biography

James Jackson is an educator and academic advisor known for his commitment to student success and holistic well-being. He serves as the Academic Services Officer for the Department of Pharmacology in the School of Medicine, where he is responsible for curriculum assessment, writing skills minicourses and workshops, student plans of work, and completion of major program milestones.

While performing his job duties, James draws on his background in active learning and supplemental instruction – he invites students to share their voices and contribute to conversations – thereby empowering students to take an active role in their academic and professional journeys.

Students describe James as an “invaluable member of the Pharmacology department who wears many hats . . . an inquisitive scholar, a talented writer, and a tireless student advocate.”
