Description: One of the features of Alzheimer’s disease neurons is the mislocalization of calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II alpha (CaMKIIa) into the cytoplasm. This R21 grant supported by NIH/NIA aims to evaluate a novel intrabody-based molecular approach to correcting the CaMKIIa dysregulation and subsequent Alzheimer’s disease pathologies in cultured neurons and mouse brains.
