New tool to mimic synaptic plasticity (Dr. Joongkyu Park lab)
Long-term potentiation (LTP), a well-characterized form of synaptic plasticity, is believed to underlie memory formation. Park lab contributed to a recent publication in Cell Rep entitled, “Chemogenetic regulation of the TARP-lipid interaction mimics LTP and reversibly modifies behavior.” This study developed a novel chemogenetic tool (termed ExSYTE) that mimics LTP and fear conditioning.
